The ChipDisc could damage your computer’s CD-ROM-drive, ruin your wallet and drive your business partners nuts, but it alerted some attention for a summer or a half. “Press Release no. 000525” - a decade ago, this is how an internet company tried to publish their releases to the public, in this case on a disk. They were talking about new top level domains those days, so the internet must have Bern invented already. Though too few journalists had an e-mail-adress, so they sent these discs. Sign at the entrance of a room deep in the German Government Bunker, a massive underground complex between the towns of Ahrweiler and Dernau some 25 kilometres south of Bonn, Germany. The government, parliament and members of Federal personnel of Germany would have tried to survive here after an event of severe crisis during the Cold War, like an attack with nuclear weapons.
